what a week...

So, Wednesday night I was feeling completely fine, I even went to bed early!  I must admit, though, that I had a funny feeling before I fell asleep, and I even had some trouble falling asleep... not to mention the completely restless, tossy turny, constantly waking up type of sleep I had.  I was not impressed, I hate being tired for work. Well, at 5:30, I woke up, and was INCREDIBLY ill.  It was -not- fun.  The worst part was, I knew it was not the flu... meaning, I knew I would have to make a hospital trip.  I called in sick to work, which, I HATE doing, but I had no other choice.  I always feel like I'm disappointing my school when I call in sick.  Luckily, my school loves me, and they're actually concerned when I call in, not mad.  I've only had to do it three times.  I despise going to the hospital alone here, very few people speak English, and I end up wandering around mindlessly.  It sucks.  Anyways, I ended up having to have a sonogram, which, is TOTALLY painful... my insides were already in intense pain, is it necessary to jab them as hard as possible?  Even when I started crying, the guy didn't ease up.  Gah.  So, an hour later, turns out that I have an infection in my large intestine... what the hell!  Luckily, I went in early enough, and I didn't have to be admitted into the hospital as a result.  Thank goodness.  I just have a few days of multiple antibiotics to endure.  Blah.  I don't recommend getting an intestinal infection, by the way... super painful.

So, I lounged around in bed all day, drinking Powerade, reading my new Lauren Weisberger novel (Last Night at the Chateau Marmont), and watching chick flicks (Sleepless in Seattle, While you Were sleeping, When Harry Met Sally).  Despite being in a whole lot of pain, it was actually a relaxing day.

So, today, still in pain, I hauled my butt out of bed, slapped on some clothes and mascara, and wandered to school... only to find out, I DIDN'T HAVE CLASS TODAY.  Gahhhh.  The third and fourth graders had an art festival today, and it was cute as heck!  There were plays, and bands, and drummers, and dancers, and tae kwon do.  I don't get to teach the third graders, but I get to teach the fourth graders once a week, and they are so sweet and adorable.  One of my little cuties ran up to me after his performance, and he asked me how I was doing, we had a little conversation and I told him he did such a good job and gave him a thumbs up, and then he gave me the biggest hug!  It was so cute.  Shortly after, one of my other little cuties ran up to me, grabbed my hand, spun around so that my arm was around her shoulder, and then she snuggled up against my side for ten minutes and watched the festival with me.  Not to mention the fact that I had a whole bunch of my students drag their parents over to meet me, and all of the compliments I got from their parents about how much their kids love me.  Oh, joy <3  I may have been in pain, but it was still a lovely day.

What made it not so lovely?  Apparently it was picture day.  I just slapped on a t-shirt and jeans when I left the house this morning!  Luckily, my co-t let me run home after lunch and change my shirt and put on some makeup.  She so kindly informed me when I got back that it was good that I put makeup on, because I looked "much less sick."  Thanks.  Haha.

Now, for your enjoyment, and the sheer ridiculousness of it, a Korean music video for Chapstick:
Korean Chapstick music video
They make commercials here with famous singers, and then make an entire music video for the product with the singers.

Also, the Korean love of my life, T.O.P.:
<3 <3 <3
I love the random English words and phrases thrown into most Korean pop songs.

Well, that's it for now.  I'm going to return to my Naju Pear, the first thing I've been able to eat since... Wednesday night!

Toodles! <3
